As more students joined, word began to spread on the practise of Kalaripayattu and Silambam. The National Heritage Board took a key decision by including Silambam as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Singapore. Kalari Academy was recognised as the only martial arts school to learn the ancient arts form.
